My Bulman Family...

Background...

My paternal grandmother was Violet BULMAN, reputedly from (or near) Great Ayton, in North Yorkshire.

This line is a bit convoluted. George [1837] was born illegitimate and carried the DITCHBURN name, with Joseph and Isobella not marrying prior to her death.

Joseph [1859] initially took the DITCHBURN name, which was used through the time of his marriage [1883] and the birth of their second child [1884]. However by the time of the 1891 census, Joseph and Sarah-Jane (and their children) had re-adopted the BULMAN name. It should be noted that Robert William [1881] was born prior to the marriage of his parents.
