Byte Night 2006
Friday 22nd September 2006 will see Byte Night 2006 - the IT community's annual annual sleep-out in aid of the
NCH (registered charity number 1097940) - this year to be held at Victoria
Tower Gardens.
Last year over 200 senior IT executives slept out for the night by Tower
Bridge to raise over a million pounds for young homeless people and care
leavers. This year I am taking part as a member of the Professional
Contractor's Group team - one of the many groups attempting to do do even better. Please
support me.
What is Byte Night?
Byte Night started in 1998 when Ken Deeks (director of Kaizo) saw a poster for NCH’s House Our Youth 2000
campaign - Ken saw the similarities between NCH’s aim of ending youth homelessness by the year 2000 and
the IT community’s deadline of making sure all systems were Y2K compliant.
He approached NCH and Byte Night was born! It has now raised a total of over a million pounds for the NCH's with young homeless people and care leavers.
